The Elizabethtown—Hardin County Heritage Council has formed a committee to replace the old mural on the former Western Auto Building with a new mural. We want the new mural to be related to the history of Elizabethtown, especially in that area of town. We are seeking ideas from you as to what should be portrayed in the painting. Write a paragraph or two explaining what you think it should show. If you have an old photo, or know where the artist could see one that goes with your concept, please include that information. If your idea is selected your name will appear on the mural with that of the artist. The deadline for entry is July 25th.

Description: The 6th Annual Christmas parade, and the 26th Annual Light Up Downtown. The Parade starts at 5:00pm, and ends in the Elizabethtown Public Square. After the parade see the Lighting of the City Christmas Tree, visit local vendors on the Square, see the Old Town Art Walk in the First Federal Gallery at the Historic State Theater Complex, and you can even watch the movie “White Christmas” starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney in the State Theater (tickets for “White Christmas” are $5).

Breakfast with Santa

Patrons beging to file into the First Federal Gallery for Pancakes and some Santa time.

Location: The Historic State Theater Complex
Description: The Heritage Council’s Annual Breakfast with Santa will be in the First Federal Gallery. It will feature a pancake breakfast, and an opportunity for each child to sit with Santa (and have their picture taken). Admission is $5, and breakfast will be served from 8am – 11:00am. At 8:30 and 11:00am see classic “Looney Tunes” in the Historic State Theater for free (children MUST be attended by an adult). Call (270) 234 – 8258.
